Churches are often the worst offenders when it comes to outdated, boring, and hard-to-use websites. It’s true. But, more and more Churches are recognizing the valuable role a website can play in building community and evangelizing the unchurched. Churches are one of my favorite clients, actually, because they benefit so greatly from a new website.
I created the custom header for the site using one of the Church’s favorite images. I set up the Church’s Facebook, Google+ and Twitter accounts and placed prominent social networking buttons on each webpage allowing visitors to +1 and Like to their hearts’ content. I created more custom buttons in the sidebar for easy access to the most sought after information.
I utilized WordPress’ inherent blogging system to allow the Church to post news and information with ease. Now they can add a new article with an image to the homepage in under a minute. Ease of use is critical to Churches who often need a secretary to be able to do the updating – so that’s exactly what I gave them.
Our Lady of Hope’s new website is easy to navigate and easy on the eyes.
